Eyewash Stations

Choose an eyewash station for hazards primarily affecting the eyes, then select the mounting style around the workstation, plumbing and drainage. ProDryers carries wall-, pedestal-, deck-, recessed, swing-down, faucet-mounted and combination eyewash configurations from Bradley, Guardian, Haws and Chicago Faucets.

Choose the Fixture by Hazard and Work Area

Choose an eyewash for eye-only exposure and an eye/face-wash model when facial exposure is part of the hazard. Do not infer equivalent coverage from bowl size or mounting. Choose Eye and Face Wash Stations when facial exposure is part of the hazard.

Mounting Choices That Change the Installation

  • Wall-mounted units conserve floor space and fit fixed plumbing locations; verify wall structure, bowl projection and waste routing.
  • Pedestal units work in open areas without a usable wall, but require floor anchoring and supply/waste connections through or across the floor.
  • For deck, sink or swing-down models, verify orientation, counter depth and swing path. Haws laboratory models provide options designed specifically around laboratory casework.
  • Recessed or cabinet units reduce projection in finished spaces. Confirm wall depth, access panels and whether a tailpiece or P-trap is needed. For drain-pan and daylight-drain configurations, compare Recessed Emergency Units.
  • Faucet-mounted units use an existing sink footprint, but faucet compatibility and the emergency-water arrangement must be verified; some attachment-style models are supplemental equipment rather than substitutes for a dedicated station. See Faucet-Mounted Eyewashes for those configurations.

Plan Drainage and Maintenance Before Installation

A bowl contains and directs flow; it does not guarantee the site has a usable drain connection. Match dust-cover, bowl and mounting options to the environment and the selected model’s maintenance requirements. Keep the location unobstructed, and label or secure service shutoffs so they are not closed inadvertently.

Where no dependable plumbed water is available, compare Portable Eyewash Units instead of compromising the location of a fixed station.
