What matters more to us after selling these products for years is that the Airblade experience generally feels intentional. The motor, airflow, sensors, housing and overall design work together as a complete system rather than feeling like unrelated features added to a generic dryer.

The basic Airblade concept is effective. High-speed airflow removes water from the hands rather than depending primarily on heat and a long drying cycle. That gives the Airblade line the fast, distinctive feel that helped make it recognizable in the first place.

HEPA-Filtered Airflow

Dyson uses HEPA filtration as part of the Airblade system, filtering intake air before it reaches the user's hands. We view that as a legitimate product feature, especially for facilities where filtered airflow is important.

Dyson has never treated the Airblade as purely utilitarian equipment. The dryers look deliberate and modern, and for architects, designers and facilities trying to create a higher-end restroom experience, that matters.

A Real Product Family

The Airblade line includes several genuinely different approaches to drying hands. The HU02 is a compact hands-under dryer, the HU03 emphasizes low energy consumption, the AB14 provides the classic hands-in Airblade experience, and Wash+Dry integrates hand drying at the sink.

That variety gives Dyson more flexibility than a product line made up of several cosmetic versions of essentially the same dryer.

Dyson Carries a Premium Price

Airblade is positioned as premium commercial equipment, and the purchase price reflects that. A facility focused primarily on obtaining dependable high-speed drying at the lowest equipment cost may find better value elsewhere.

The Brand Name Should Not Make the Decision

We occasionally see buyers arrive already convinced they need "a Dyson" without first considering restroom traffic, wall projection, user experience, electrical service, maintenance and budget.

We would rather match the dryer to the application. Sometimes the answer is Dyson. Sometimes it isn't.

We Do Not Like Every Dyson Model Equally

Our general preference within the current Airblade line is the Airblade V HU02 for many conventional commercial restrooms. Its compact hands-under format is easy to understand, and its shallow profile makes it useful where wall projection matters.

The HU03 can make sense when very low energy consumption is a major priority. The AB14 is the product to consider when the iconic hands-in Airblade experience is specifically desired. Wash+Dry is a more specialized design choice that works best when the restroom is being planned around hand washing and drying at the basin.

Our experience with Dyson Airblade reliability has generally been positive.

We have supplied Airblade dryers for commercial installations for many years, and we have seen units remain in service for long periods under regular use. Like any commercial electrical equipment, they can eventually require service, but we do not view Airblade as a product line that routinely creates unusual reliability problems.

When service is required, warranty procedures, parts availability and proper diagnosis matter just as much as the original dryer specifications.
