Emergency Safety Stations with Showers and Eyewashes

Safety stations combine an emergency shower with an eyewash or eye/face wash at one response point. Compare Guardian and Haws floor-mounted configurations by wash type, bowl and piping material, activation, protection valves and environmental requirements.

Start With the Required Wash Function

Choose an eyewash combination when the identified hazard calls for eye flushing; choose an eye/face-wash combination when facial exposure must also be addressed. The shower serves full-body rinsing. Confirm the manufacturer’s designation for the exact unit instead of treating bowl size or spray-head appearance as equivalent coverage.

Match Construction to the Facility

Plastic bowls reduce weight and suit many indoor installations. Stainless-steel bowls, stainless piping, PVC and all-stainless configurations address different project specifications and environments. Select the complete construction package—bowl, piping, fittings and showerhead—rather than focusing on one visible component.

Hand and foot controls provide different activation options. Foot treadles can add an alternate way to start the wash, but require clear floor space and careful placement. Dust covers, drain components and scald- or freeze-protection valves should be selected only where the exact model provides them and the site requires them.

Coordinate the Full Installation

Before ordering, confirm floor anchoring, supply direction, simultaneous shower-and-wash demand, drainage, tempered-water strategy and any alarm connection. For accessible layouts compare Barrier-Free Safety; for wall-integrated assemblies compare Recessed Emergency Units.
