ASI 7801-42 Omara 42-Inch Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 7801-42 is a surface-mounted, 42-inch straight grab bar with a 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter tube. It is made of Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish and has 18-gauge tubing, 16-gauge posts, and a 12-gauge wall flange. Heliarc-welded tube-to-post connections and threaded flange covers conceal the mounting screws and retaining set screws.
Mounting and accessibility guidance
Provide appropriate blocking and anchoring before finishing the wall. The mounting plates use three 1/4-inch hex-drive button-head screws per flange; screws are by others. Secure the posts to the mounting plates with the set screws, then thread the flange covers onto the flanges. Waterproof screw holes in wet-wall installations. ASI states its grab bars are designed to meet and exceed the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards and ANSI A117.1, but wall mounting is critical to the stated load capability; the mounting system must be adequately sized. For the manufacturer's 2010 ADA installation guidance, position the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor.
Care
Clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild detergent, then wipe with water and dry. Protect the stainless steel from muriatic acid, caustic or abrasive materials, and harsh detergents.
