ASI 7801-36 Omara 36-Inch Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 7801-36 is a 36-inch, surface-mounted straight grab bar with 1-1/2-inch OD, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tubing and a satin finish. Heliarc-welded tube-to-post connections and 16-gauge posts are part of its construction. The screw-on flange covers conceal the mounting screws and retaining set screws. ASI states that its grab bars are designed for a fabricated product strength exceeding 250 lb; the wall attachment is critical to the performance of the installed system.
Mounting requirements
Mounting plates attach with three 1/4-inch (M6) hex-drive button-head screws per flange; screws are by others. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing before finishing the wall. For wet-wall installations, waterproof the screw holes. ASI's instructions call for positioning the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor for its 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards guidance. Actual installation compliance depends on the installation and applicable requirements.
Care
Clean regularly with a soft cloth and mild detergent, then wipe with a clean water-moistened cloth and dry. Avoid muriatic acid, caustic or abrasive materials, and harsh detergents outside the manufacturer's stated pH range.
