ASI 3801-36 36-Inch Straight Grab Bar with Snap Flange
The ASI 3801-36 is a smooth, 36-inch straight grab bar for wall mounting. Its snap-on stainless steel covers conceal the mounting screws, distinguishing it from exposed-flange models.
Specifications
- Bar: 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter type 304 stainless steel tubing with an 18-gauge wall.
- Mounting flange: 3-1/8 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- Snap-on cover: type 304 stainless steel, 22 gauge, satin finish, and 3-3/16 inches in diameter; it covers the flange dimples and conceals the screws.
Installation
Use the bar as a template to mark and pre-drill mounting holes. No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system, are by others. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing before wall finishing; anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately. ASI's installation guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards specifies a bar-top height of 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. Suitable wall mounting and fasteners are also essential.
