ASI 3801-12 12-Inch Snap-Flange Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 3801-12 is a 12-inch straight grab bar with concealed wall mounting. Its satin-finish Type 304 stainless steel cover snaps over the flange dimples to conceal the mounting screws.
Specifications and installation
- Bar: 1-1/2-inch O.D., 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tubing.
- Mounting flange: 1/8 inch thick and 3-1/8 inches in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- Cover: 22-gauge, 3-3/16-inch-diameter satin-finish Type 304 stainless steel cover.
- Fasteners: ASI specifies two No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers at each flange, or another fastener system suited to the conditions. Screws and washers are by others; anchors are available from ASI but must be specified separately.
- Wall preparation: Provide appropriate anchoring and backing before finishing the wall. The wall attachment and fastener system are critical to the installed bar.
- Installation height: For installations intended to comply with the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, ASI specifies the top of the bar at 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. Compliance depends on the complete installation, including anchorage.
