ASI 3801-36P 36-Inch Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 3801-36P is a 36-inch straight grab bar for concealed mounting, with a peened Type 304 stainless steel tube and satin-finish snap-on flange covers. The covers conceal the mounting flange and screws after installation.
Specifications
- Bar length: 36 inches; tube: 1-1/2-inch outside diameter and 18 gauge.
- Tube material: Type 304 stainless steel; the peened option is the manufacturer's non-slip surface.
- Concealed flange: 3-1/8 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- Snap-on cover: satin-finish stainless steel, 22 gauge and 3-3/16 inches in diameter.
Mounting guidance
Fasteners and washers are supplied by others. ASI specifies two No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers per flange, or another suitable fastener system. Provide appropriate wall backing and select anchoring suited to installation conditions before finishing the wall; ASI anchors must be specified separately. For its cited 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, ASI's installation guidance specifies a top-of-bar height of 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. ASI notes that the mounting and fastener system affect performance.
