ASI 3701-36P 36-Inch Straight Stainless Steel Grab Bar
The ASI 3701-36P is a 36-inch straight grab bar for installations requiring a 1-1/4-inch outside-diameter bar. Its peened surface is the manufacturer's optional non-slip finish, and snap-on covers conceal the mounting flanges.
Product specifications
- Tube: 1-1/4-inch O.D., 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel.
- Surface and finish: peened option with satin finish on exposed surfaces.
- Concealed flange: 1/8-inch-thick Type 304 stainless steel, 3-1/8 inches in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- Snap-on cover: 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel, 3-3/16 inches in diameter, with a satin finish.
Mounting guidance
Use the bar as a template to mark and pre-drill the mounting holes. The manufacturer specifies two No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers per flange, or another suitable fastener system; fasteners are by others. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing before finishing the wall, based on site conditions, local requirements, and project plans. ASI anchors are available but must be specified separately. For its cited 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, ASI's installation guidance places the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; verify applicable project and code requirements.
