ASI 3701-42P 42-Inch Peened Straight Grab Bar with Snap Flange
The ASI 3701-42P is a 42-inch straight grab bar with a peened surface and snap-on covers that conceal the mounting flanges and screws. It has 1-1/4-inch-diameter Type 304 stainless steel tubing and a satin finish.
Specifications
- Length: 42 inches; tubing: 1-1/4-inch outside diameter and 18 gauge.
- Material and finish: Type 304 stainless steel with a peened surface and satin-finish covers.
- Each concealed flange is 3-1/8 inches in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- Snap-on Type 304 stainless steel covers are 22 gauge and 3-3/16 inches in diameter, concealing the mounting flanges and screws.
Installation planning
Provide suitable wall backing and anchoring before finishing the wall. The manufacturer specifies two #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system, for each flange; fasteners are by others. Anchors are available from ASI but must be specified separately. For manufacturer guidance on installation under the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, install with the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; this is installation guidance, not a blanket compliance determination.
