ASI 3701-18P Peened Straight Grab Bar, 18 in
This 18-inch straight grab bar has a 1-1/4-inch O.D. and Type 304 stainless steel construction with 18-gauge tubing. Its concealed mounting flange is 1/8 inch thick, 3-1/8 inches in diameter, and has two screw holes and three locking dimples. The 22-gauge, 3-3/16-inch-diameter satin-finish Type 304 cover snaps over the dimples to conceal the screws. The -P suffix identifies ASI’s peened, non-slip surface option.
Plan wall backing and suitable anchoring before finishing the wall. ASI installation guidance calls for two #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers at each flange, or another fastener system suited to the conditions; these are by others. Anchors are available from ASI but must be specified separately. For installation under the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, ASI guidance specifies a bar-top height of 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; installation and anchoring conditions matter.
