ASI 3701-42 Straight Grab Bar, 42 inch
This smooth, 42-inch grab bar has a 1-1/4-inch outside-diameter type 304 stainless steel tube with an 18-gauge wall. Its snap-on type 304 stainless steel cover conceals the mounting screws by covering the flange dimples. The 3-1/8-inch-diameter mounting flange has two screw holes and three locking dimples and is 1/8 inch thick. The satin-finish cover is 22 gauge and 3-3/16 inches in diameter.
Installation
Use the bar as a template to mark and pre-drill mounting holes. No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system, are by others. Appropriate anchoring and wall backing must be provided before wall finishing; anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately. ASI's installation guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards specifies a bar-top height of 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; suitable wall mounting and fasteners are also essential.
