ASI 3701-18 Straight Grab Bar, 18 Inch
The ASI 3701-18 is a smooth, 18-inch (457 mm) straight grab bar with a 1-1/4-inch (32 mm) outside-diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tube and a satin finish. Its snap-on Type 304 stainless steel cover conceals the mounting flange and screws.
Specifications
- Tube: 1-1/4-inch (32 mm) outside diameter, 18 gauge (1.2 mm), Type 304 stainless steel.
- Finish: satin on exposed surfaces.
- Flange: 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick and 3-1/8 inches (79 mm) in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- Snap-on cover: Type 304 stainless steel, 22 gauge, and 3-3/16 inches (81 mm) in diameter.
Plan the wall structure and fastening before installation. ASI requires appropriate anchoring and backing in accordance with local building codes or project plans before the wall is finished. #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system, are by others; anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately. ASI's installation guidance for 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards is to position the top of the bar 33 inches (840 mm) to 36 inches (915 mm) above the finished floor.
