ASI 3801-48P Peened Straight Grab Bar
This 48-inch straight grab bar has 1-1/2-inch-diameter Type 304 stainless steel tubing with a peened surface. All exposed surfaces have a satin finish. The concealed mounting flanges are 1/8 inch thick and 3-1/8 inches in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples. The 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel snap covers have a satin finish and measure 3-3/16 inches in diameter.
Installation considerations
Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing before finishing the wall. The manufacturer specifies two #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another fastener system suited to the wall conditions, for each flange. Screws and washers are by others; anchors must be specified separately. For installation guidance intended to comply with the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, position the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor.
