ASI 3701-48P 48-Inch Peened Straight Grab Bar
This 48-inch straight grab bar has 1-1/4-inch O.D. Type 304 stainless steel tubing with a peened surface. ASI identifies the -P suffix as its optional non-slip surface. The concealed-mount snap-flange design uses covers that snap over flange dimples to conceal the mounting screws. The mounting flanges are 3-1/8 inches O.D., 1/8 inch thick, with two screw holes and three locking dimples; the Type 304 stainless steel covers have a satin finish, are 22 gauge, and measure 3-3/16 inches in diameter.
Mounting requirements
Fasteners are not included. ASI specifies two #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers by others, or another fastener system suited to each flange and wall condition. Provide appropriate anchoring and backing before wall finishing; anchors are available from ASI but must be specified separately. ASI’s installation guidance for the cited 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards places the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; installation and wall fastening must suit the project conditions.
