ASI 3501-42 42-Inch Straight Grab Bar with Exposed Flanges
The ASI 3501-42 is a 42-inch smooth stainless steel grab bar for exposed wall mounting. It has satin-finished exposed surfaces and does not include the optional peened, non-slip finish.
Specifications
- Bar: 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter type 304 stainless steel tubing with an 18-gauge wall.
- Flanges: 3 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick, with three countersunk mounting holes per flange.
- Finish: satin on exposed surfaces; peened finish is an optional model suffix and is not included on this smooth model.
- Mounting screws are not provided. The manufacturer specifies suitable screws or another fastener system selected for the wall conditions.
Mounting requirements
Use the bar as a template to mark and pre-drill mounting holes. Provide appropriate anchoring and backing before wall finishing. ASI's installation guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards specifies installing the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; installation and anchorage must be evaluated for the specific project.
