ASI 3874 Horizontal Grab Bar, 18-1/8" x 33-1/8"
This smooth 1-1/2" O.D. horizontal grab bar has Type 304 stainless steel tubing and concealed snap-on flange covers. The cover snaps over three locking dimples to conceal the mounting screws. Each concealed mounting flange is 3-1/8" O.D., 1/8" thick, and has two screw holes. The cover is 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish and 3-3/16" diameter.
Installation
Use the bar as a template to mark and pre-drill mounting holes. Fasteners are by others: the manufacturer specifies two #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system, at each flange. Appropriate anchoring and wall backing must be provided for the installation conditions. For the manufacturer’s 2010 ADA installation guidance, set the top of the bar 33"–36" above finished floor; mounting and anchoring are critical to the installed system.
