ASI 3774 Horizontal Grab Bar, 18-1/8" x 33-1/8"
This smooth, horizontal 1-1/4" O.D. grab bar has a type 304 stainless steel tube. All exposed surfaces have a satin finish. The 1/8"-thick concealed mounting flanges are 3-1/8" in diameter, with two mounting holes and three locking dimples. The 22-gauge type 304 stainless steel snap-on cover measures 3-3/16" in diameter and engages the flange dimples to conceal the mounting screws. The tubing is 18 gauge.
Mounting considerations
ASI specifies two No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another fastener system suited to site conditions, for each flange; screws and washers are by others, and anchors must be specified separately. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing before finishing the wall; wall mounting and support are critical to grab-bar performance. For installation guidance intended to comply with the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, the top of the bar is positioned 33" to 36" above the finished floor.
