ASI 3874-P Peened Horizontal Grab Bar, 18-1/8" x 33-1/8"
This horizontal grab bar has a 1-1/2" O.D., 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tube with a peened surface. The Type 304 stainless steel snap-on cover has a satin finish, is 22 gauge, and measures 3-3/16" (81 mm) in diameter. The concealed mounting flange is 3-1/8" (79 mm) in diameter and 1/8" thick, with two screw holes and three locking dimples; the cover snaps over the dimples to conceal the mounting.
Installation
ASI specifies two #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers by others, or another fastener system suited to conditions at each flange. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing in accordance with local codes or project plans before finishing the wall. The fastener system must be adequately sized for the loads at the mounting surface; anchors are available separately.
