ASI 3802-54 54-Inch Straight Grab Bar
This smooth 1-1/2" O.D. straight grab bar has an intermediate support and snap-on flange cover. The type 304 stainless steel tubing is 18 gauge with a satin finish. The 1/8"-thick concealed mounting flange measures 3-1/8" O.D. and has two screw holes and three locking dimples. The type 304 stainless steel cover has a satin finish, is 22 gauge and measures 3-3/16" in diameter; it snaps over the flange dimples to conceal the mounting screws.
Installation considerations
Provide appropriate wall backing and anchoring before finishing the wall. The manufacturer specifies #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system; fasteners are by others. ASI anchors are available but must be specified separately. For installations following the manufacturer's 2010 ADA placement guidance, position the top of the bar 33" to 36" above the finished floor. Actual compliance depends on the installation and applicable requirements.
