ASI 3702-54P 54-Inch Peened Grab Bar
This 54-inch straight grab bar has a 1-1/4-inch outside-diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tube with an intermediate support. Its exposed surfaces have a satin finish. The -P suffix identifies ASI's optional peened non-slip surface.
The snap-on cover conceals the mounting flange and screws. Each end flange is 1/8-inch-thick Type 304 stainless steel, 3-1/8 inches in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples. The Type 304 satin-finish cover is 22 gauge and 3-3/16 inches in diameter.
Installation considerations
Provide appropriate backing and anchoring before wall finishing, in accordance with local codes or the project plans. ASI specifies two No. 10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another fastener system suited to the conditions, for each flange; fasteners are by others. Anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately. For installations intended to comply with the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, ASI specifies positioning the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor.
