ASI 3801-24 Straight Grab Bar, 24"
This smooth, 24" straight grab bar has a 1-1/2" outside-diameter, 18-gauge type 304 stainless steel tube with a satin finish. The snap-on type 304 stainless steel cover conceals the mounting flange and screws. The flange is 1/8" (3 mm) thick and 3-1/8" (79 mm) in diameter, with two 5/16" (7.5 mm) mounting holes and three locking dimples. The 22-gauge cover is 3-3/16" (81 mm) in diameter.
Plan the wall structure and fastening before installation. ASI requires appropriate anchoring and backing in accordance with local building codes or project plans before the wall is finished. #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system, are by others; anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately. ASI's installation guidance for 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards is to position the top of the bar 33" (840 mm) to 36" (915 mm) above the finished floor.
