ASI 3801-24-41 24-Inch Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 3801-24-41 is a 24-inch surface-mounted straight grab bar for installations needing a smooth, matte black finish and a concealed snap-flange cover. Its 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter tubing is Type 304 stainless steel.
Specifications
- 18-gauge smooth tubing; 1-1/2-inch (38 mm) outside diameter and 24-inch (610 mm) length.
- Matte black powder-coated finish.
- Concealed 1/8-inch (3 mm) thick Type 304 stainless steel mounting flange, 3-1/8 inches (79 mm) in diameter, with two screw holes and three locking dimples.
- 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel snap-on cover, 3-3/16 inches (81 mm) in diameter, conceals the screws.
Installation and care
Use the bar as a template to mark mounting-hole locations and pre-drill. Install each flange with two #10 self-threading flat- or oval-head screws, or another suitable fastener system; fasteners are by others. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing for the installation and applicable local building codes or architectural plans. ASI anchors are available separately. For the manufacturer's stated 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards installation guidance, position the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches (840 to 915 mm) above the finished floor; this height guidance alone does not determine compliance for an installation.
Clean accessible surfaces with mild liquid soap, then wipe and dry. Do not use abrasive powders or scouring pads, toilet or tile cleaners, solutions containing more than 1% ammonia, acids, lye, or enzymes. In shower areas, provide outside ventilation so excess humidity can escape. Warranty: one year from the invoice date.
