ASI 3801-24P-41 Straight Grab Bar, 24-Inch, Matte Black
The ASI 3801-24P-41 is a surface-mounted, 24-inch straight grab bar for restroom installations where a textured gripping surface and matte black finish are specified. Its 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter tubing is textured, and a snap-on cover conceals the mounting screws. The matte black powder-coated finish coordinates with ASI’s Matte Black Collection.
Specifications
- 24-inch length; 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tubing.
- Textured surface; matte black powder-coated finish.
- Surface-mounted, 1/8-inch-thick Type 304 stainless steel flange, 3-1/8 inches in diameter, with two mounting holes and three locking dimples.
- 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel snap-on cover, 3-3/16 inches in diameter.
Installation and care
Use the bar as a template to mark and pre-drill mounting holes. Fasten each flange with two #10 self-threading flat-head or oval-head screws, or another suitable fastener system; fasteners are by others. Provide appropriate anchoring and wall backing for site conditions and local requirements before finishing the wall. Anchors are available from ASI but must be specified separately.
ASI's 2010 ADA installation guidance places the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. This is manufacturer guidance, not a blanket compliance guarantee; the manufacturer notes that wall mounting is critical to the grab-bar system.
Clean accessible surfaces with mild liquid soap, then wipe and dry. Do not use abrasive powders or pads, toilet or tile cleaners, solutions containing more than 1% ammonia, acids, lye, or enzymes. In shower areas, provide ventilation to remove excess humidity.
