ASI 3514-P Swing-Up Grab Bar
This surface-mounted swing-up bar is fabricated from type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish and a peened top bar surface. Its 1-1/2-inch-diameter tubing has three detent positions: full up, 45 degrees raised, and full down. A polymer bumper limits contact when the bar is lowered, and a solid stop bumper on the mounting plate prevents the raised arm from banging into the wall. The bar is operable with one hand.
Before wall finishing, provide concealed anchor plate or blocking as required by the construction documents or local codes. The wall plate has six mounting holes; concealed anchors or mounting plates and fastening hardware are not supplied. The wall attachment is a critical part of the mounting system. For the manufacturer's 2010 ADA installation guidance for adults, position the top of the horizontal bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; installation height and anchoring must also suit the site and applicable requirements.
Detent tension is preset at the factory and is not adjustable. Inspect periodically and arrange any repairs needed for safe operation.
