ASI 3434-P Peened Straddle Grab Bar
This surface-mounted straddle grab bar has a 1-1/4-inch outside-diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel bar with a satin finish and peened gripping surface. The exposed flanges are 3 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick; their mounting-screw holes are drilled and countersunk.
The bar measures 18 inches high by 24 inches wide by 24 inches deep. ASI specifies installation with the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor as manufacturer guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards; this is not a guarantee of site compliance.
Installation
Appropriate anchoring and wall backing must be provided for the site conditions and applicable requirements. Mounting screws and other fasteners are by others. See the specification sheet for the mounting layout and further details.
