ASI 3513-P Swing-Up Grab Bar, Peened
The ASI 3513-P is a surface-mounted swing-up grab bar with a peened top-bar gripping surface. Its adjustable friction-sleeve balance and clamp-bolt tension adjustment control bar movement.

- Type 304, 18-8 stainless steel with a satin finish; 18-gauge bar tubing measures 1-1/2" in diameter.
- The mounting plate has seven 1/4" mounting holes. Install the top-arm stop bumper at the top-center mounting hole to limit contact with the wall when the bar is raised.
- A solid axle and adjustable friction-sleeve balance support movement; a hex-head clamp bolt adjusts tension.
- The -P option provides a peened top-bar gripping surface. The bar is operable with one hand, and a plastic end cap cushions contact with the wall plate when lowered.
- ASI states its grab bars are designed to support a load in excess of 250 lb; the wall fastening system must be adequately sized for the loads.
Mounting and operation
Concealed anchors or blocking and appropriate mounting hardware are required but not supplied. For manufacturer guidance on installation for adults under the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, position the top of the horizontal bar 33" to 36" above the finished floor; confirm the mounting configuration against project and local building requirements.
Lower the bar manually to its horizontal support position and raise it for departure. The balance tension can be adjusted by tightening or loosening the clamp bolt. Inspect periodically and adjust tension or make repairs as needed, since use may loosen tension over time.
