ASI 3414 Swing-Up Grab Bar
The ASI 3414 is a surface-mounted swing-up grab bar fabricated from type 304 stainless steel, alloy 18-8, with 18-gauge, 1-1/4"-diameter tubing. The welded assembly has a six-hole mounting plate, preset detent stops at full up, 45° raised, and full down, and a polymer bumper at the lower bar end. It is operable with one hand; the factory-set movement tension is not adjustable.
Plan for concealed anchor plate or blocking before finishing the wall. The anchor/blocking and mounting hardware are not supplied. Fasten through all six mounting holes to the concealed support with appropriate hardware. The wall attachment is critical to the assembly's strength, so the fastener system must be sized for the resulting loads.
For adult use, ASI's installation guidance for ABA-ADA Accessibility Guidelines places the top of the horizontal bar 33" to 36" above the finished floor. This manufacturer guidance is not a blanket compliance determination.
