ASI 3414-25 Swing-Up Grab Bar with Integral Toilet Paper Roll Holder
The ASI 3414-25 is a surface-mounted swing-up grab bar with an integral, manually used toilet paper holder. The Type 304 stainless steel bar has three preset detent positions: full up, 45° raised, and full down. Concealed wall anchorage is required and is not supplied.
Specifications and operation
- Grab-bar tubing: 1-1/4" diameter, 18 gauge. Exposed surfaces have a satin finish; the structure is welded.
- The mounting bracket has a 6-gauge (3/16") back plate with six mounting holes. Appropriate mounting hardware is supplied by others.
- Lower the bar manually to the horizontal support position; raise it for departure. The 45° intermediate rest position is provided to assist lifting for access and egress.
- The integral holder is formed from Type 304 stainless steel rod. Its upturned end helps keep the roll from falling during bar operation.
Installation and care
Before finishing the wall, provide a concealed anchor plate or blocking as required by the construction documents or local codes. Fasten the wall plate through all six mounting holes with appropriate hardware. ASI identifies wall mounting as critical to grab-bar strength; anchors and hardware are not supplied. For ASI's stated 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards installation guidance for adult use, position the top of the horizontal bar 33" to 36" above the finished floor. Periodically inspect operation and arrange repairs if needed.
