ASI 3401-24P 24-Inch Peened Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 3401-24P is a 24-inch straight grab bar for installations calling for exposed mounting flanges and a peened surface. It uses 1-1/4-inch Type 304 stainless steel tubing; mounting fasteners are not included.
Verified specifications
- Tube: 1-1/4-inch outside diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel.
- Finish and surface: satin finish with the -P optional peened surface, which ASI identifies as non-slip.
- Flanges: exposed, 3 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick.
- Mounting holes: three countersunk holes per flange, sized for #10 flat-head or oval-head screws or 1/4-inch pan-head screws.
Mounting guidance
Fasteners are not included. Select a fastener system for the wall conditions and provide appropriate anchoring and backing before finishing the wall; ASI notes that the wall mounting system is critical to the installed assembly. ASI's installation guidance for the cited 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards specifies the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor.
