ASI 8204 Compact Rectangular Folding Shower Seat
The ASI 8204 is a surface-mounted, padded folding shower seat with an 18-inch width. The manufacturer identifies this model as ADA compliant. Its Type 304 stainless steel frame folds up when the seat is not in use.
Dimensions and operation
- Folded down: 18 inches wide by 17 to 19 inches high by 16-1/2 inches deep.
- Folded up: 18 inches wide by 28 to 30 inches high by 5-9/16 inches deep.
- Seat: Off-white Naugahyde® cover over a closed-cell foam cushion and 1/2-inch marine-grade plywood base.
- Frame: Type 304 satin-finish stainless steel.
- Operation: One-hand operation lowers or raises the seat. The guide bracket’s spring detent prevents the seat from dropping, supports it in the use position, and locks it in the raised storage position.
- Load: Supports up to 500 lb when properly installed, according to the manufacturer.
Installation
Provide concealed anchor plates or blocking before wall finishing. Anchors and mounting hardware are not supplied. Fasten the flanges and guide bracket to the concealed support with appropriate hardware, and ensure the mounting configuration complies with local building codes.
