ASI 8203-33 Folding Shower Seat
This surface-mounted, 33-inch-wide seat has a one-piece, 5/16-inch-thick solid phenolic seat with semi-gloss white laminate on the top and bottom and black edges. The frame, support legs, flanges and guide bracket are Type 304 satin-finished stainless steel. The seat itself is 14-1/2 inches deep; the complete unit projects 15-7/8 inches from the wall.
The slotted seat drains water and folds up when not in use. It can be manually lowered or raised with one hand. A guide bracket with spring detent helps prevent the seat from dropping, supports it in the use position and locks it in storage. The manufacturer rates the seat to support up to 500 lb when properly installed and identifies the model as ADA compliant.
Installation considerations
Before finishing the wall, provide a concealed anchor plate or blocking as required by the construction documents or local codes. Fasten the flanges and guide bracket to the anchor or blocking with appropriate hardware. Concealed mounting plates or anchors and mounting hardware are not supplied; ensure the installation complies with local building codes.
