ASI 3802-48AW Germ Guard Grab Bar with Intermediate Support
The ASI 3802-48AW is a 48" straight grab bar with a 1-1/2" diameter and an added center post (intermediate support). It uses Type 304 stainless steel tubing with a white silver-ion antimicrobial powder coating. The 3802-48AW adds the center post to the 48" 3800-AW configuration; the 3801-48AW is the corresponding 48" model without that post.
Model and coating details
- The standard 3800 Series construction uses 18-gauge tubing and snap flanges with covers that conceal the mounting hardware.
- The intermediate support uses keyhole slots.
- ASI states that the coating presents silver ions at the surface for the life of the grab bar and maintains a kill rate exceeding 99.95% for bacteria, algae, fungus, mold, mildew, and yeasts, based on independent testing to JIS Z 2801.
- ASI reports coating durability testing for ASTM salt-spray corrosion, cross-cut adhesion, and impact peel.
