ASI 3501-36P 36-Inch Straight Grab Bar with Exposed Flanges
The ASI 3501-36P is a 36-inch straight grab bar for exposed-flange mounting, with 1-1/2-inch outside-diameter tubing and a peened surface.
Size, material and flange details
- Type 304 stainless steel tubing, 1-1/2 inches in outside diameter and 18 gauge.
- Peened surface; ASI identifies the -P suffix as its optional non-slip surface. Exposed surfaces have a satin finish.
- Two exposed flanges, each 3 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick, with three countersunk mounting holes per flange.
Mounting and placement
Mounting screws are not provided. ASI specifies three #10 self-tapping flat- or oval-head screws per flange, or another fastener system suited to the wall conditions. Anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately. Provide appropriate wall backing and anchoring before wall finishing, and size the fastener system for the installation. ASI's installation guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards calls for the top of the bar to be 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor; fastening and placement must be planned for the installation conditions.
