ASI 3401-12P 12-Inch Straight Grab Bar
The ASI 3401-12P is a 12-inch straight grab bar for exposed-flange mounting. It has a 1-1/4-inch outside-diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tube with a peened non-slip surface and satin-finish exposed surfaces.
Specifications
- Two exposed flanges, each 3 inches in diameter and 1/8 inch thick.
- Each flange has three countersunk mounting holes.
- Mounting screws are not provided; provide appropriate anchoring and backing for the wall conditions. Anchors are specified separately.
Mounting and placement
ASI’s installation guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards specifies positioning the top of the bar 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. The manufacturer notes that mounting is critical and the fastener system must be adequately sized.
