ASI 0135-3 TURBO-Tuff Fully Recessed Hand Dryer
The ASI 0135-3 is a fully recessed, automatic high-speed hand dryer for 277V, 60Hz service. Its Type 304 stainless steel cover has a satin finish, seamless design, and 18-gauge construction; the cabinet is 20-gauge galvannealed steel with a 1/2-inch perimeter trim, concealed captive hex screws, and a flush-to-wall fit. An infrared sensor activates drying when hands are placed in the chamber. The dryer shuts off after time-out or when hands leave the sensor zone. Manufacturer-stated drying time is under 15 seconds.
The dryer has an auto-resetting thermostat, owner-adjustable air speed and temperature, and on/off heat options. Its 0.67 HP adjustable brush-type motor has dual ball bearings and operates at 16,000–29,000 RPM. The model is rated 277 VAC, 60Hz, 5.2A maximum, 1000W. Sound pressure is 68.9–74.3 dB-A at 2 m. Overall dimensions are 12-19/32" W x 15-3/4" H x 4-1/32" D. The manufacturer identifies the dryer as ADA compliant: the top of the hand chamber must be no higher than 48" AFF for clear forward or side reach, 46" for side reach over the specified obstruction, or 44" for forward reach over the specified obstruction.
Recess and electrical planning
- Minimum rough wall opening: 12-5/16" W x 15-3/16" H x 3-7/8" D.
- Mount in a prepared wall recess. Mounting screws or other suitable hardware are not supplied. For masonry, the manufacturer specifies expansion bolts or anchors for 1/4" screws.
- Electrical service is provided and connected by others before the cover is installed. Follow the manufacturer’s installation guidance for service-cable rough-in and mounting height; for general utility, it recommends placing the top of the hand chamber 44"–50" above finished floor.
