ASI 9020 Toddler Safety Seat, Surface-Mounted Plastic
The ASI 9020 is a surface-mounted HDPE toddler safety seat for installation inside a toilet partition, on the door or panel, or on a dressing-room wall. It allows a parent to bring a toddler into a restroom stall and supports a static load of 50 lb (23 kg). The seat folds manually for storage.
Specifications and operation
- High-density polyethylene (HDPE) is easy to clean and resists fungal and bacterial growth.
- Overall dimensions: closed, 12-1/2 in. x 21-3/4 in. x 5-1/2 in. (318 x 552 x 140 mm); open, 12-1/2 in. x 21-3/4 in. x 11-1/8 in. (318 x 552 x 283 mm).
- When manually lifted closed, the seat folds to 5-1/2 in. (140 mm) and requires less than 1.9 ft² (1765 cm²) of wall space either open or closed.
- One-hand operation requires less than 5 lb (22.2 N) of force and does not require tight grasping, pinching, or wrist twisting.
- The adjustable three-point safety harness has independently attached shoulder straps; its latch releases with opposing finger pressure from an adult caretaker or parent.
Mounting and use
Mount to a suitable wall or partition using appropriate anchoring hardware (by others); the wall reinforcement must support the maximum unit loading. Allow clearance for the seat to open. The manufacturer recommends installation by a qualified person and, for its stated 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards guidance, setting the top of the seat no higher than 15 in. (381 mm) above the finished floor. Follow the installation instructions and always attend the baby.
