ASI 0010 Corner Shower Stall Seat
This surface-mounted corner seat has a type 304 stainless steel seat, support brackets, and retaining clip with No. 4 satin-finish exposed surfaces. A full-length stainless steel piano hinge secures the seat to one wall; an angle-bracket support attaches it to the other. The manufacturer specifies a capacity in excess of 300 pounds, but cautions that the seat is no stronger than its anchors or supporting walls.
Installation and use
- Provide wall backing before applying the finished wall. Mounting fasteners are by others and must suit the wall conditions.
- Manufacturer installation guidance places the top of the lowered seat 17–19 inches above the finished floor. The manufacturer gives this placement range as its guidance for ADA Accessibility Guidelines; it is not a blanket compliance guarantee.
- Locate the retaining clip so it holds the raised seat in its storage position by friction. Disengage the clip to lower the seat; raise the seat and engage the clip for storage.
