ASI 8523AC Automatic Roll Paper Towel Dispenser

The ASI 8523AC is a surface-mounted, proximity-sensing dispenser for standard 8- or 9-inch-wide roll towels up to 800 feet long. It dispenses one preset towel length per cycle and has a stub-roll feature for continued dispensing.

Specifications and operation

  • Type 304 stainless steel cabinet with satin finish; 13 inches wide x 17-3/4 inches high x 10-15/32 inches deep.
  • Powered by a supplied low-voltage adapter: 110–240VAC, 50/60 Hz input; 6VDC at 2A output.
  • The owner selects towel length, delay and economy settings using three three-position switches.
  • To use the stub-roll feature, load a new full roll and transfer the remaining partial roll to the stub-roll position. The LED indicates sensing and operation.
  • The locking door prevents unauthorized access and roll removal. The manufacturer specifies a one-year warranty from the invoice date.

Installation guidance

Provide in-wall reinforcement for drywall or suitable anchors for other wall conditions; mounting fasteners are by others. The manufacturer's instructions specify a code-approved cable or conduit (by others) to the power-entry knockout, terminated in the utility duplex outlet box inside the cabinet. Required supply is 110–240VAC, 50/60 Hz, protected by a 15A circuit breaker. For the stated 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards, 2015 ABA Standards and ICC/ANSI A117.1 guidance, install the unit so the top of the towel opening is no higher than 48 inches above the finished floor. The manufacturer notes that some local codes may require a 40-inch maximum; for general utility, it gives an opening height of 49–56 inches.
