ASI 8156 Recessed Specimen Pass Box with Extension Sleeve and Flange
The ASI 8156 is a recessed specimen pass box for transferring containers from a patient area into a laboratory. It includes the Model 8155 extension sleeve and flange with the Model 8154 pass box; those components are otherwise sold separately. The interlocked doors prevent both sides from opening at once, and the removable stainless steel drip tray can be taken out for cleaning.

- Cabinet and door: 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel; flange: 22-gauge Type 304 stainless steel. Satin finish.
- Heavy-duty, multi-staked 3/16 in. diameter stainless steel piano hinge.
- Specimen containers are not supplied. Place containers on the tray from one side; they can be retrieved from the other side after the first door is closed.
Fit and installation
Mount through a partition or wall 5-1/2 to 9-7/8 in. thick. Secure the fixed flange first, then the adjustable flange on the opposite side using the supplied #10 self-threading Phillips flat- or oval-head screws. For general utility, the manufacturer recommends a door centerline 54 in. above finished floor. The manufacturer's 2010 ADA installation guidance specifies a door-pull centerline no higher than 48 in. above finished floor with clear floor access, or 46 in. when only side reach over an obstruction is provided. Confirm applicable site requirements.
