ASI 3801-48W 48-Inch White Grab Bar
This 48-inch grab bar has 1-1/2-inch-diameter, 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tubing with an exposed white epoxy powder-coated finish. Snap-on covers conceal the mounting flanges. Each 3-1/8-inch-diameter flange is 5/64 inch thick, continuously welded to the tubing, and has two mounting holes; the snap-on cover is 21 gauge with locking tabs.
Mount using #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers, or another suitable fastener system; fasteners are by others. Appropriate anchoring and wall backing must be provided to suit the conditions and applicable plans or local codes. ASI’s guidance for ADA Accessibility Guidelines calls for the top of the bar to be 33 to 36 inches above the finished floor. Wall attachment is critical to the system’s ability to meet its stated strength requirements.
