ASI 3801-42W White Grab Bar, 42", 1-1/2" Diameter, Snap Flange
The ASI 3801-42W is a 42" Type 304 stainless steel grab bar with 1-1/2" diameter tubing and a white epoxy powder-coated finish. Snap-on flange covers conceal the mounting hardware.
Specifications
- Bar: Type 304 (18-8) stainless steel tubing, 1-1/2" (38 mm) diameter x 18 gauge.
- Finish: white epoxy powder coat on exposed surfaces.
- Length: 42" (1067 mm); this is the 42-inch model in the 3801-W size range.
- Mounting flanges: 5/64" (2 mm) thick, continuously welded to the tubing; each end flange has two 1/4" (6 mm) mounting holes on a 2-3/8" (61 mm) bolt circle.
- Snap-on cover: 21 gauge (0.9 mm), with locking features for concealed mounting; the flange is 3-1/8" (79 mm) in diameter.
Installation guidance
Use the bar to mark mounting locations. ASI specifies #10 self-tapping pan-head screws and flat washers (by others), or another fastener system suited to site conditions. Appropriate anchoring and wall backing must be provided before the wall is finished; ASI notes that the fastener system and wall attachment are critical to carrying loads. For installation intended to follow ADA Accessibility Guidelines, ASI specifies a top-of-bar height of 33" (840 mm) minimum to 36" (915 mm) maximum above the finished floor. This is manufacturer installation guidance, not a blanket compliance determination.
