ASI 3001-30 Concealed-Mount Grab Bar-Towel Bar
This 30-inch grab bar-towel bar has 1-inch-diameter, 18-gauge type 304 stainless steel alloy 18-8 tubing with a satin finish. Each 3-inch-diameter flange is 11-gauge (3 mm) thick and heliarc-welded to the tubing with a continuous concealed bead. Three tamper-resistant 1/4-28 stainless steel hex socket set screws are supplied for each flange. The mounting tenon plates are case-hardened, cadmium-plated 13-gauge steel.
Wall mounting requirements
- Secure tenon plates to the wall with 1/4-inch bolts (by others) through elongated slots that allow 1 inch of vertical and 3/16 inch of horizontal fitting adjustment. Fit the flanges over the plates and secure them with the supplied set screws.
- Provide appropriate anchoring and backing in accordance with local building codes or as specified before wall finishing. Anchors are available from ASI and must be specified separately.
- ASI states its grab bars are designed to meet and exceed the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards and ANSI A117.1, and that the fabricated product is designed for a load in excess of 250 pounds. The manufacturer cautions that appropriate wall mounting is critical and the fastener system must withstand the resulting loads; this does not establish compliance for a particular installation.
