ASI 1315-4 Utility Shelf with Mop Holders, Hooks and Drying Rod

The ASI 1315-4 is a 36-inch surface-mounted utility shelf with four pivoting mop or broom holders, three rag hooks and a drying rod. The 8-inch-deep shelf is for general dry janitorial supplies; wet cloth items can hang from the rod to drip into a floor basin (by others).

Specifications and operation

  • Overall dimensions: 36 inches wide x 6 inches high x 9-1/8 inches deep; shelf depth: 8 inches.
  • Construction: 18-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish; the shelf has a 3/4-inch return for rigidity, and the mounting brackets are 16-gauge stainless steel.
  • Holders and hooks: Four riveted, pivoting spring-loaded mop holders with ribbed, serrated rubber cams, plus three rag hooks and a drying rod.
  • Holder operation: Push a mop or broom handle upward into the grip-jaw until it seats behind the clamp-plate rib. The spring holds the cam against the handle, and gravity holds the mop clamped in position.
  • Wet or dry cleaning rags may be hung on the hooks; wet cloth items may be hung on the rod to drip into a floor basin (by others).
  • Warranty: One year from the date of invoice.

Mounting and placement

Install on a wall or partition with clear wall space to the floor. Use #10 self-threading pan-head screws through the bracket holes into suitable wall anchors or prepared blocking; screws, anchors and blocking are by others. For general utility, the manufacturer advises mounting with the top of the shelf 72 inches above finished floor. Its stated guidance for the 2010 ADA Accessibility Standards is to install with the top hook no more than 48 inches above finished floor; installation conditions determine the appropriate placement.
