ASI 1224-42 42-Inch Shower Curtain Rod with Concealed Mounting Flanges
The ASI 1224-42 is a 42-inch, wall-mounted shower curtain rod with 1-inch-diameter Type 304 (18-8) stainless steel tubing. Install it in a straight section between two concealed mounting flanges.
Specifications and mounting
- Rod length: 42 inches (1067 mm); tubing diameter: 1 inch (25 mm).
- The pair of flanges consists of wall-mounting lugs and locking sleeves. One sleeve has a locking screw to help prevent rod rotation.
- Each mounting lug has two holes for #10 round- or pan-head screws. Mounting screws are furnished by others.
- For standard ASI 1200 or 1200-V curtains, which are 72 inches long, with standard 1200-SHU hooks. Other hooks may be used.
Installation and use
For a 72-inch curtain and 1200-SHU hooks, install the rod centerline 74-1/2 inches above the finished floor (AFF), or 67 inches above the tub rim, to obtain a 6-inch bottom overlap. When correctly installed, the rod is held captive by the flanges; it may rotate if turned by hand. It supports shower curtains, not significant body weight, which can bend the rod and pull it from the flanges. Rods longer than 72 inches require a ceiling hanger, Model 1224-C18.
