ASI 1214-2-54 Shower Curtain Rod Tubing Only
The ASI 1214-2-54 is a 54-inch wall-mounted shower curtain rod tube for installations between two mounting flanges. Its 1-inch-diameter, 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel construction has a satin finish; the two ASI 1214-1 flanges are sold separately.
Specifications and installation
- Length: 54 inches; tubing diameter: 1 inch; material: 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with satin-finish exposed surfaces.
- Install in a straight section between two flanges, allowing no more than 1/4 inch total wall clearance. Seal screw holes beneath the flanges to help prevent sprayed water from entering the wall structure.
- For the standard 72-inch ASI 1200 or 1200-V curtain with 1200-SHU hooks, ASI specifies a rod centerline no higher than 74-1/2 inches above the finished floor or 67 inches above the tub rim to provide 6 inches of curtain overlap.
- When properly installed, the rod is held captive by the flanges and may rotate if turned by hand. It supports specified shower curtains hung on 1200-SHU hooks or other hooks (by others); significant body weight can bend the rod and pull it from the flanges.
