ASI 1214-2 Shower Curtain Rod Tubing
The ASI 1214-2 is a wall-mounted, 1-inch-diameter satin-finish Type 304 stainless steel shower-curtain rod supplied as tubing only; the two mounting flanges (ASI 1214-1) are sold separately. It fits installations sized to the selected rod length and uses 20-gauge tubing.
Length and specifications
- Standard listed lengths are 24, 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, and 72 inches; the manufacturer specifies length as ordered, up to a maximum of 120 inches.
- Rods longer than 72 inches require ceiling hanger Model 1224-C18.
- Install the rod in a straight section between two mounting flanges, with no more than 1/4 inch total wall clearance. Seal screw holes beneath the flanges to help prevent sprayed water from entering the wall structure.
- When properly installed, the rod is held captive by the flanges and may rotate if turned by hand. The rod and flanges support specified shower curtains hung on 1200-SHU hooks or other hooks (by others).
- For a standard 72-inch ASI 1200 or 1200-V curtain and 1200-SHU hooks, ASI specifies a rod centerline no higher than 74-1/2 inches above the finished floor or 67 inches above the tub rim to provide 6 inches of curtain overlap.
- The rod will bend and pull from the flanges if significant body weight is suspended from it.
