ASI 1214-2-78 Shower Curtain Rod Tubing
The ASI 1214-2-78 is a 78-inch wall-mounted shower curtain rod made from 1-inch-diameter, 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tubing with a satin finish. This is tubing only; #1214-1 mounting flanges are sold separately, and this rod length requires a #1224-C18 ceiling hanger.
Specifications and installation
- Size and material: 78 inches long; 1-inch-diameter, 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish.
- Mounting: Install in a straight section between two flanges with no more than 1/4 inch total wall clearance. Because the rod is longer than 72 inches, add the #1224-C18 ceiling hanger. Seal wall screw holes beneath the flanges to help prevent sprayed water from entering the wall.
- Curtain placement: For a 72-inch #1200 or #1200-V curtain with standard #1200-SHU hooks, ASI specifies a rod centerline no higher than 74-1/2 inches above the finished floor or 67 inches above the tub rim to obtain 6 inches of bottom overlap.
- Use: When properly installed, the rod is held captive by the flanges and supports specified shower curtains hung on #1200-SHU or other hooks (by others). It may rotate if turned by hand; significant body weight can bend the rod and pull it from the flanges.
