ASI 1214-2-66 Shower Curtain Rod Tubing
The ASI 1214-2-66 is a 66-inch wall-mounted shower curtain rod for installations using separate #1214-1 mounting flanges. It is 1-inch-diameter, 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel tubing with a satin finish; flanges and hooks are sold separately.
Specifications and installation
- Size and material: 66 inches long; 1-inch-diameter, 20-gauge Type 304 stainless steel with a satin finish.
- Configuration: Tubing only. Install between two mounting flanges in a straight section, with no more than 1/4 inch total wall clearance.
- Curtain positioning: For a 72-inch ASI 1200 or 1200-V curtain with standard 1200-SHU hooks, set the rod centerline no higher than 74-1/2 inches above finished floor or 67 inches above the tub rim to obtain 6 inches of bottom overlap. Other hooks are by others.
- Mounting and water protection: When properly installed, the flanges hold the rod captive; it may rotate if turned by hand. Seal screw holes beneath the flanges to help prevent sprayed water from entering the wall.
- Use: The properly installed rod and flanges support specified curtains hung on 1200-SHU or other hooks. Significant body weight can bend the rod and pull it from the flanges. The manufacturer specifies ceiling hanger #1224-C18 for rods longer than 72 inches; this 66-inch model is below that threshold.
