ASI 9012 Horizontal Baby Changing Station

The ASI 9012 is a surface-mounted horizontal baby changing station for commercial restrooms. It is made of FDA-approved HDPE and supports a 300 lb static load; ASI states it was tested in excess of 350 lb. The station projects 4 in. from the wall when closed and includes a liner dispenser that can be converted to dispense multifold towels without adapters.

Specifications

• Changing bed measures 35-7/8 in. wide by 20-3/8 in. deep, with a concave surface and adjustable two-part child safety strap.
• A damped gas spring assists one-handed opening and closing. The operating force is less than 5 lb; the mechanism is inaccessible, and sealed components support easy cleaning.
• Two integral bag hooks also serve as hand grips. The dispenser has a viewing slot for checking the liner or towel supply.
• The dispenser has a concealed, self-latching lock. The unit includes instructions in seven languages, mounting hardware, and color-matched fastener covers.
• The light gray HDPE unit is recyclable at end of usable life and has a five-year warranty against defects in material or workmanship.

Installation and use

Mount the station to a wall structure able to carry the maximum load. The supplied hardware is suitable for metal or wood studs in dry locations and general hollow-wall construction where the substrate is strong enough; masonry fasteners and anchors are not supplied. Follow the manufacturer’s mounting diagram and instructions. Installation to the shown dimensions provides 27–27-3/8 in. of knee clearance beneath the unloaded bed and a rim height of 30-13/16–31-3/16 in. Accessibility depends on installation.
